Experience Counts 50+ >>> [PDF DOWNLOAD]
This programme is funded by London Councils and the European Social Fund (ESF), exclusively for Brent and Harrow residents over the age of fifty who are not working but not claiming Job Seeker's Allowance and who require careers information, advice, guidance and support in the form of entry level IT training and job brokerage to help them find work. The training includes initial assessment of skills and experience, followed by a three-week IT training programme.
For maximum effectiveness we work on a one-to-one basis for job search and employability skills support and in small, tutor led groups for the IT training. Our tutors use a range of materials and media to deliver the training and all participants have the use of high-speed broadband connected computers, which allows them to put what they are learning directly into practice.
On completion of the course, each client is allocated a dedicated consultant, who is on hand to help them search for and apply for jobs. Additional support includes regular progress reviews, CV design, help with application forms, researching companies and mock interviews.
The programme also provides additional support to help individuals progress to suitable further learning opportunities, should this be appropriate to their needs.
